Core Drilling

Core drilling is a process that utilizes a hollow drill bit to bore holes through a vertical or horizontal surface. This can create a circular opening for plumbing, structural, electrical, and more. Core drill bits are available in various diameters from 1/2" to 26"+. Core drilling can be done through various surfaces including those with reinforcement. The perimeter of the hole is cut leaving a "core" that is removed from the center, this process can be completed faster than removing all material inside the area. Remote-controlled core drilling is also available.

Remote Saw Cutting

Remote Saw Cutting

Remote saw cutting provide a safe way to saw cut through various surfaces. This saw is mounted on a track on either a vertical or horizontal surface and is controlled through a wireless remote so the operator can stay back a safe distance. Our electric saw can be precisely tuned to control speed and depth, and can cut up to 29" deep.

Concrete Scanning

Identifying the location and type of a subsurface feature is a necessary step before any cutting, coring, or breaking activity can occur. There are a wide range of common subsurface features located in concrete. We will analyze the data collected by using GPR to determine the location and type of features below the surface. This gives us the ability to drill, saw, or break concrete while preserving the integrity of the structure and reducing the need for any costly repairs safely and efficiently.

Steel reinforcing is an integral part of the structural integrity of any concrete structure. Slabs of concrete can contain hundreds of feet of rebar reinforcement. Using GPR, we can locate subsurface rebar and precisely mark their locations, allowing any cutting, coring, or breaking to be completed safely.

Post-tension cables are under extremely high tension, if they are cut or damaged, they can break the concrete structure and pose an imminent threat to the safety of the crew or personnel in the structure. We can use GPR to locate post-tension cables, mitigating safety hazards and maintaining the integrity of the concrete.

Electrical wiring in conduit is often run through or at the bottom of concrete slabs and poses a shock risk if damaged. Not only is this a safety hazard, but these can also cause power outages. By using GPR, our crew can determine the location of piping and conduit, so the work can proceed safely.

Voids in concrete, air gaps between the subgrade and the concrete slab, can occur over time due to erosion, compaction, and pipe ruptures. Voids and general deterioration affect the structural integrity of concrete slabs, but these imperfections are easily detectable by GPR. We can use GPR to scan for voids and mark locations, ensuring that the structure is safe, and work can continue without threats to personnel.

Utility Locating

GPR scanning is a locating method that is frequently utilized to locate subsurface objects, allowing us to pinpoint the location of underground utilities. This nondestructive method uses the GPR waves that rebound once they encounter the subsurface object. GPR scanning can be used in the following applications but is not limited to:
